To reinforce the cooperation of scientific research and academic exchange in the field of Laboratory Animal Science between China and other countries of the world, to promote the development of Laboratory Animal Science in China and to exhibit the fruit of our research in laboratory animal science area, the Chinese Association for Laboratory Animal Sciences (CALAS, the same with the following) decided to hold the 7th Scientific Conference in September, 20-24,2006, in Gui-lin, Guang Xi Autonomous Region of China. We have an exciting program planned with many interesting and provocative talks and activities. We are forward to seeing you there.

1. The academic exchange and the review of excellent papers
2. The scientific reports on special subjects by invited specialists
3. Award the international specialists who have contributed much to the development of laboratory animal science in China and the development of CALAS.

The academic exchange
1. Subjects to be covered
(1) The standardization, quality control, and detection techniques of laboratory animal science;
(2) Animal model of human disease;
(3) New techniques, method, 3Rs of animal experiments;
(4) Transgenic and gene knock out techniques;
(5) The industrialization of laboratory animal production and socialization of animal experiment service;
(6) The development and application of laboratory animal seeds resources;
(7) The legal administration laboratory animals;
(8) Animal welfare and ethics in laboratory animal science;
(9) others.

Technical lectures and training

1. Monitor and control of environment;
2. Basic techniques of animal experiment (Fetch samples of blood, urine and drug administration, etc)

Product exhibition
Laboratory animal equipment and related products will be exhibited during the annual meeting. All the companies which have products of laboratory animals or animal experiments are all welcome to exhibit their instruments, devices, reagents, biology products, feedstuff, bedding stuff, publications.
